Theo hãng NeoSmart Technologies, bản thử nghiệm Windows XP SP3 build 3205 đã tới tay nhóm thử nghiệm từ chủ vista vừa rồi (7/10), trong đó là một số năng năng mới bao gồm khoảng hơn 1.000 bản sửa lỗi kể từ khi bản SP2 được ban hành cách đây 3 năm.
Cũng theo NeoSmart, các tính năng với có trong Windows XP SP3 sẽ bao gồm: Network Access Protection (NAP); module nhân mới (chứa các thuật toán cho phép các nhà phát triển thứ ba tiếp cận); và thể thức hoạt hoá Windows mới (không cần người dùng winxp nhập mã sản phẩm - product key).
Hiện Microsoft vẫn chưa có bình luận nào về những thông tin NeoSmart đưa ra. Được biết, trước đây, Microsoft cũng thông báo bản SP3 sẽ hỗ trợ NAP, vốn là một phần của Windows Vista và sẽ được tích hợp vào Windows Server 2008.

I) Bản Service pack 3 mới nhất tải về từ đâu?
Phiên bản sửa lỗi mới này hiện chưa có ở website chính thức Microsoft mà mới chỉ có bản windows chính thức
( unofficial ) do rò rỉ thông tin.
Nhưng đây đúng thật bản sữa lỗi thứ 3 cho XP ( Service pack 3 ),chứ không phải là tập hợp từng cái hotfix nhỏ nhỏ trước đây của Service pack 3 .

II) Cách cập nhật SP3 này vào Win XP cho máy tính đã cài,có XPSP2 :
Tải hết các file này về xong, bạn chỉ cần bung file,nó sẽ tạo ra 1 file exe duy nhất, có tên là :
- windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe,
- Kích thước : 323MB

Muốn cài SP3 cập nhật lên WinXPSP2 đã có sẵn ở ổ C của máy tính, bạn cứ click đôi vào file exe nó sẽ bung ra ở một thư mục tạm và bắt đầu back up các file cũ và cài lên bằng các file SP3 bung ra. Việc cập nhật này cũng khá lâu nếu bạn có chạy thêm chương trình khác trong lúc đang cập nhật lên SP3.
Xong xuôi, nó sẽ hỏi bạn là có cần restart máy hay không,tốt hơn bạn nên reboot máy lại.

Trở lại WinXP, bạn click nút phải vào My computer, service properties sẽ microsoft ở thanh System properties của System có dòng Service pack 3 v 3180,như hình trên ,đấy là việc cập nhật đã nhật công.

III) Cách cập nhật SP3 lên đời cho đĩa CD-ROM XPSP2 :

1) Chép toàn bộ mọi thư mục của đĩa cài đặt XPSP2 vào ổ cứng, vào một thư mục chung có tên XPPRO ở ổ F chẳng hạn, trong đó bạn phải thấy rõ ràng có thư mục I386.

2) Dùng nút phải để click vào file: windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe
nhằm bung tất cả ra một thư mục tạm : windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.

3) Bên trong thư mục này, bạn cũng sẽ thấy một thư mục chung I386.
Tiếp tục, chép toàn bộ mọi thư mục phụ có trong thư mục chung I386 này vào một thư mục mới đặt tên SP3 ở ổ E chẳng hạn .

4) Vào start menu, chọn run và browse để tìm ra trong SP3, thư mục nhật và file update.exe.
Chọn tiếp open file update.exe này, thêm vào sau exe, cái đuôi như sau

Thí dụ: Nếu bạn có thư mục SP3 đang có ở ổ E và XPPRO ở ổ F, bạn sẽ có dòng lệnh cập nhật SP3 vào XPPRO như sau trong run:

Nhớ là bạn phải đánh thật đúng dòng lệnh theo mẫu trên, thì nó mới cập nhật lại các file SP2 thành SP3 : bạn phải thấy dòng update successfully.
Nếu không đúng dòng lệnh hướng dẫn nó sẽ báo lỗi và bắt bạn phải làm lại.
Như vậy là nó đã giúp cho bạn mới có đĩa WINXP-SP3 cập nhật trong ổ cứng.

Đĩa này một khi được cài bổ sung SP3 , bạn sẽ lên ngay đời là XP-SP3 ngay lúc cài lần đầu thay vì là XP SP2 như trước đây.

IV) Cách làm ra đĩa CD XPSP3 tự boot cài đăt:

1) Dùng Nlite 109 bạn sẽ tích hợp SP3 vào XP-SP2 và cuối cùng là tạo file ISO để ghi ra đĩa CD XPSP3 tự boot cho bạn.

2) Trường hợp không có phần mềm Nlite, bạn có thể dùng UltraISO 863, kéo & thả vào đó hết các file của thư mục XPPRO đã tích hợp thành SP3...



Sau đó, bạn muốn file ISO này bootable, bạn cứ tìm ra file setupldr.bin. nằm trong thư mục I386.
Đấy chính là file dùng để boot của CD XP, bạn chọn vào load boot file setupldr.bin ở mục bootable nằm trên thanh menu củ UltraISO 863 và save as thành file ISO mới có tên XPSP3 .

Ghi file hình ảnh ISO này ra đĩa CD bằng các chương trình ghi đĩa như Nero 8030, WinonCD 603 hay Ashampoo burning studio 710 , bạn sẽ có đĩa một đĩa CD WINXP-SP3 để dành cài đặt lại và sửa chữa về sau này cho máy bạn.

Service Pack 3 For Windows XP

Although Microsoft is ending the sale of Windows XP through ****** and OEM channels by end of January 2008, this does not mean they are ending their support of Windows XP. While some publications claim that Microsoft will stop supporting Windows XP by 2009, that's simply not true. Microsoft will continue to support Windows XP up till August 4, 2014 under their Extended Support Policy. Naysayers can take a look at the Support Lifecycle for Windows XP Professional for example.

As Windows XP nears the end-of-life though, it is Microsoft's policy to release a final service pack to wrap up all those hot fixes and patches released over the past few years. A Sayonara Service Pack, in other words. What this means is a much easier patching process for those who still want to stick with Windows XP. Almost a thousand Windows XP updates in a single download.

It doesn't matter if you are still using the original, unpatched Windows XP or Windows XP Service Pack 2. You can upgrade directly to Windows XP Service Pack 3. You can also slipstream Service Pack 3 into your Windows XP installation media. This allows you to install a fully-patched Windows XP SP3 without going through the ardous process of downloading and installing the many, different updates.

What's New?
Service Pack 3 will consist mainly of previously-released hot fixes and security patches. It will also come with Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Media Player 11. Basically, everything you can download and update right now, but conveniently rolled into a single update.

Service Pack 3 will change Windows XP in some ways though. For one thing, after upgrading to Service Pack 3, you can now enter the product key after installation. Previously, you would have been required to do so during installation. Service Pack 3 will also add Network Access Protection, a Windows Vista feature, to Windows XP.

Deployment Schedule
Microsoft has set forth the following deployment schedule. They are currently nearing the end of the Technical Beta programme.

First Build (Technical Beta)
- available only to vendors for internal tests.
- released since August 2007.

Second Build (Public Beta)
- available to the public for beta testing.
- to be released in mid-September

Third & Fourth Builds
- these will be Release Candidates 1 & 2.
- to be released over the last 3 months of 2007.

Final Build (Release To Manufacturing)
- tentatively scheduled for release in the first half of 2008.
